Agreement and eligibility
By accessing depossier.com, using the Deposit Check, creating an account, requesting a document, or purchasing a Recovery Pack, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement and follow the laws and organizational policies that apply to you. If you use Depossier for another person or an organization, you represent that you have authority to provide the information and accept these Terms.
Operator and contact details
Depossier is operated through depossier.com. Product, account, billing, privacy, accessibility, security, and legal inquiries can be sent to support@depossier.com.
The Depossier service
Depossier helps users organize security deposit facts, calculate an entered unpaid balance, review deduction and evidence gaps, and prepare documents such as a security deposit demand letter, email copy, timeline, evidence checklist, and follow-up wording. Features, fields, prices, output formats, and provider availability may change.
The free Deposit Check is an organizing tool. A displayed balance is calculated from the numbers you enter and is not a legal damages calculation, final deadline determination, or statement that a landlord owes a particular amount.
Not a law firm or legal advice
Depossier is not a law firm, lawyer-referral service, government agency, court, or legal-aid organization. The service does not provide legal representation, create an attorney-client relationship, determine whether a charge is lawful, predict a court result, or guarantee that a landlord will respond or pay.
Security deposit rules may depend on state and local law, lease language, property type, notice facts, delivery method, evidence, and deadlines. You are responsible for checking important information with an official source, legal-aid organization, or qualified professional before relying on or sending a document.
You review and send documents yourself
Depossier prepares drafts and organizational materials. We do not contact your landlord, send email, verify a landlord's identity or address, serve legal papers, file a court claim, negotiate, collect money, or monitor delivery. You are responsible for reviewing names, addresses, dates, amounts, allegations, attachments, and requested outcomes before use.
You choose the delivery method, attach the records you want to share, send the materials yourself, and keep copies and proof of delivery. A generated draft should not be presented as a letter from a lawyer, court, government agency, or any person who did not review and approve it.
Your information and responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information and for having permission to use, process, retain, and share the names, addresses, lease details, messages, photos, invoices, receipts, and other records you provide. Do not submit information that is false, misleading, unlawfully obtained, or unrelated to your own authorized matter.
Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank credentials, passwords, complete payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information. Redact unrelated personal information before sharing records with Depossier or another recipient.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your account, browser profile, device, and session secure. Provide accurate account and billing information, do not share paid access outside permitted use, and notify support@depossier.com if you suspect unauthorized account or payment activity.
Free access, paid products, and billing
The homepage describes the free Deposit Check and the planned one-time Security Deposit Recovery Pack. The purchase page or checkout controls the current product, price, currency, taxes, included output, and payment terms. Paid access begins after payment confirmation.
Unless checkout clearly states otherwise, a one-time Recovery Pack purchase does not renew automatically. If subscriptions or additional products are introduced, their renewal and cancellation terms will be disclosed before purchase. Refund requests are governed by the Refund Policy and non-waivable consumer law.
Acceptable use
- Do not provide or use rental information, documents, photos, messages, or personal data without authorization.
- Do not use Depossier to threaten, harass, impersonate, defraud, deceive, extort, or make statements you know are false.
- Do not present a generated document as legal advice, attorney work product, a court filing, or an official government notice unless it independently qualifies as such and has been properly reviewed.
- Do not introduce malware, evade security controls, abuse authentication, scrape private data, or interfere with depossier.com, connected services, payment systems, or providers.
- Do not resell access, share a license improperly, bypass product limits, or copy protected software, design, branding, or documentation to create a competing service.
Third-party services and sources
Depossier may rely on third-party hosting, authentication, payment, analytics, advertising, email, document-processing, or infrastructure services. Their services are governed by their own terms and can change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue functionality without our control.
References to government, court, legal-aid, payment, authentication, or other third-party sources do not imply affiliation or endorsement. You are responsible for confirming that a source is current and applicable to your situation.
Intellectual property
You retain any rights you have in information and records you submit. Subject to these Terms and the applicable purchase, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use generated materials for your authorized personal matter.
Depossier and its software, design, branding, documentation, and other service materials remain owned by us or our licensors. Except where applicable law permits it, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or bypass protected parts of the service.
Availability and changes
We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features, products, integrations, or access when reasonably necessary for development, security, legal compliance, third-party changes, or business operations. Uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access for nonpayment, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal necessity, or material violation of these Terms. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related terms, continue to apply.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Depossier is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every browser or device, error-free calculations, complete legal information, acceptance of a document by a landlord, a response by a recipient, recovery of a security deposit, or suitability for a particular legal, tax, regulatory, financial, or professional purpose.
Generated language depends on the information supplied and may contain omissions or errors. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting the output before use. These disclaimers do not exclude warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Depossier and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of documents, evidence, claims, deadlines, recovery opportunities, revenue, profits, goodwill, or data arising from use of the service. To the extent permitted by law, aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Depossier during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes, questions, and disputes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and date on depossier.com. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance where permitted by law. Before starting a formal dispute with Depossier, please contact support@depossier.com and provide enough information for us to try to resolve the issue. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.
